About:
Wreaths Across NH is a New Hampshire born idea stemming from the time when Arlington National Cemetery was considering cancelling the national wreath ceremony in 2020. That was unacceptable but in realizing that not every veteran in NH was properly honored at Christmas Matt Mayberry decided to fix that oversight. In three weeks, Mayberry raised over $12,000 and along with 127 volunteers including Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Ryan Pitts 2,000 wreaths were placed in Dover, Barrington, Madbury, New Durham and Rollinsford. Wreaths Across NH is not part of the Wreaths Across America program but a compliment to that wonderful national effort.
2021 will bring new opportunities to honor our passed veterans. Newmarket, Epping and St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover are all poised to join us on December 11th bringing the new total to 4,000 wreaths.
Should any funds be left over from wreath purchases, those funds will go to Hammers for Veterans. This program does home modifications so low income veterans can age in place longer and all done at no cost to them. Typically these veterans need bathroom modifications for wheelchairs and walkers, often they need ramps to enter and exit their homes and a great many need new roofs often on their manufactured home.
Dollar in, dollar out. We will honor those veterans who have passed and those veterans still with us.
